Brendan Hughes, age 22, of Shelton, was arrested on Friday, July 14, said Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police.

Hughes was charged with threatening and held on a $1,000 bond, Kozlowsky said.

The arrest stems from a call Shelton Police received from Florida law enforcement regarding an online threat made to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Twitter.

The threat stated, “I'm going to kill Ron Desantis with a gun.”
